Janice became part of our team in December of 2007 and we are so glad to have her. Janice functions as a "Jack of All Trades" and wears many hats in the clinic, performing both client care and technical duties. She is presently learning more technician skills such as venipuncture and cystocentesis.
Janice has the all important job of surrogate mother to Babies, the Persian clinic cat. She cleans his face daily, grooms his coat with the Furminator comb and gives him a lion cut when needed. He pouts when she takes a day off!
Jackie
Registered Veterinary Technician
Jackie, shown here with Dizzy, came to our practice in July, 2008 after moving from
Northern California where she had just completed two years of veterinary technology with a GPA of 3.68. We are proud to announce that she breezed her state licensing exam and is now a Registered Veterinary Technician. Her primary interest is in Internal Medicine.
Jackie's home includes her amazing cats, Norah, Cole, and newest addition, Piper, who was adopted through the clinic.
Heather
Registered Veterinary Technician
Heather joined us in September 2008 but she may not be a new face to you. She worked at All Care Cat Clinic from 1999-2004 before she left to have her daughter. She returned to
Cheshire and fit right in! Drawing on her knowledge as a Registered Veterinary Technician, Heather likes to educate clients and help pets to live long, happy lives.
While in school, Heather had the opportunity to work with several exotic species both at the
San Diego
Wild
Animal
Park and
Acacia
Animal
Hospital, a veterinary clinic that treats many bird patients.
Heather's home is inhabited by her husband, her daughter and Frankie the dog. Unfortunately, due to her husband's allergies, there are no kitties in the home but Heather gets her fill here at Cheshire Cat!
Fiona
Veterinary Assistant
Fiona is Janice's daughter. She practically grew up in the cat clinic and has been working her officially since June of 2008. She has grown by leapd and bounds and is quite skilled for her age! This year, she graduated from high school, took an amazing tour of Europe and is preparing to go off to begin her pre-veterinary courses at college. We are all so proud of her!
Raquel
Registered Vetrinary Technician
Raquel joined Cheshire Cat in February 2010 after working in several small animal practices around San Diego. She graduated from PIMA Medical Institute's Veterinary Assistant program in 2002 before attending Veterinary Allied Staff Education classes in preparation to pass her Registered Veterinary Technician examination in 2009. Additionally, Raquel volunteers her time with the Feral Cat Coalition and supports Project Wildlife.
Raquel's animal family includes Felix, her "very mean" kitty, two chihuahuas, Fibi and Tinker, and Mehly, a Cairn Terrier.
In her spare time, Raquel spends quality time with her husband and is an avid Charger Fan (Go Bolts!) She enjoys the outdoors and archery, and loves a yummy meal of sushi.
